Today is another holiday here in Holland and as I get ready to travel again this weekend, I have been taking some much needed downtime. I began with placing some new plants on my balcony to bring some more beauty into my life.
I really do enjoy planting, gardening and just getting my hands dirty I guess. I am surprised that as a little girl I did not play in the dirt that much, because as I get older I really do enjoy it. As I was planting some new seeds in between the existing blooms that I already have, something occurred to me. What a metaphor planting is for our lives. In order for any of our dreams to come to fruition, we must first plant a seed. We can't expect it to grow in one day, one week or when we want it to. Even with the plants that we buy that are already in bloom. What do we always have to do?
Nurture them, water them and tend to the weeds in some cases. This is an ongoing process. Planting the seed is just the beginning and the rest depends on how much we take care of what we are trying to grow, our dedication, perserverance, love and attention to it's progress as well.
So what seeds are you planting in your life today? Or what "plants" would you like to see grow and flourish in your life? It is just something to think about. Because more than likely wherever your thoughts or energy is going is exactly what you will create more of. So why not concentrate on building it exactly the way you envision it and nurture those seeds that you truly want in your life. It might be a nice surprise to wake up one morning to see the masterpiece of a life that you have created for yourself and those around you.
Hope everyone is enjoying their week!
In love and gratitude,
Asha
