Unraveling the layers of love

Ah...it's Christmas time and all the cheer, love and laughter that surrounds most of us is intoxicating. I am back home in the US and really taking in all of the experiences. It is amazing what you see in a place once you have left. The old saying "you can never go home again" has some real truth at the core of its foundation.

I have been getting the chance to visit with family, old and new friends and just spend some much needed time by myself during this holiday season. One of the things that I have been exploring is Love. One of my favorite subjects to think on, write about and feel. There are so many forms and expressions of love it is a mystery indeed. What is more fascinating to me is the multiple layers of love that exist.

We usually don't get to explore this too much or really feel what that really is. For example a love between man and wife. Yes of course there is the intimate, romantic love but if you look deeper there is a mutual friendship, respect, a deep founded love and of course if they have children there is that love and regard to one another as parents. There is much more than what meets the eye in any and all of our 'love' relationships to another human being. As the holiday season of 2008 is approaching, I am reminded of the multiple facets of love that I have for others and those that others have for me. The fact is love is a deep emotion to be felt and if you are so lucky to have true love than consider yourself blessed. For it is a blessing to be grateful for. Love is to be cherrished and respected, that is the only true way it can grow. Love is to be accepted without judgement or fear, for it truly is the language of the heart.

Well I wish everyone a great holiday season and a very happy new year! I wish everyone all the love in the world in every facet that is imaginable. Till next time.

In love and gratitude

Asha
