My least favorite chore...

I just finished the last pant and shirt in my 'ironing room'.. Whew.... that was a bit painful. I hate to iron. I consider myself domestic in so many ways, but ironing is not and probably never be a forte of mine. As I was making my way through a pile of pants and shirts that I need for work I asked myself 'who on earth invented ironing' and ' do I really need to iron everything including undergarments just because the natives do that as well here. Well not to much surprise it just so happens that the Europeans did invent ironing according to what I found on the internet. Well of course the Chinese used hot metal for ironing before anyone else and before the electric iron was discovered the Northern Europeans used stones for smoothing clothes out. I did not realize there was so much history to a process that we all do mostly once a week or if you are from around here you do it practically everday and EVERY single garment gets ironed....

Well I am happy to say that I am finished for my weekly chore and will find new ways to make it more fun and interesting. I guess when you are in a new land you must do like the natives to a certain degree.. i still however refuse to iron undergarments! :)

In gratitude and love

Asha
