Every first Monday of the month around noon the test sirens are up for their monthly check to see that all is in order. The first time I heard it I had an uneasy feeling hearing such a sound. It reminded me of movies I have seen over the years depicting the World Wars. These sirens were used during the World War times to warn the civilians of possible attacks and danger. Most of the people who can truly remember living through those times are getting older but can still recall and relive the experiences that they had. What an experience that must have been. Life changing for sure.
For me not being alive or in this part of the world during that time of history it is hard to imagine completely, however when I hear those sirens every month, I take a moment to think of all the people that were directly effected by history. I think of their courage and endurance in their lives. History makes us who we are in the present time. I think it is good every now and than to take a look 'back' and see who you were and who you are growing into the present time. It can help you along your path today.
