I just got back from the magnificent Brussels this past weekend. I had a great time there. There is something about that city that I just love. It always puts things into perspective for me and I always seem to find a piece of myself there....
The city was buzzing with lots of tourist due to the every 2 year celebratory flower carpet.( for more information you can look it up at www.flowercarpet.be) It was indeed a beautiful sight, almost 1 million begonias in the shape/design of a beautiful tapestry. In the evening they had a gorgeous light show highlighting the flowers with music playing in the background... I truly felt like I was in Europe. the Grand Place square is one of the most "European" feeling squares I have been to. It has all the right components to make you truly feel as if you have entered history. On the other side of the city the annual fair was happening with lots of live music and events that were more family oriented.
As my usual travels, I met so many different people from all over the world. It is a very cosmopolitan city. I had some great conversations with some 'perfect strangers' again. I met so many people from all walks of life and all different countries.
I am loving being in Europe! Enjoying every minute of my freedom to travel and the ease in my life these days. I have attached a few pictures from my trip.
In love and gratitude,
Asha
